What is Dynamic DNS (DDNS)?

DDNS

DDNS (Dynamic DNS) is a service that maps Internet domain names to IP addresses. Dynamic DNS(DDNS) updates a DNS server with new or changed records for IP addresses without the need for human intervention. This allows a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) that never changes to be associated with a dynamically assigned IP address that can change quite often. DDNS has a similar purpose to DNS: DDNS allows anyone hosting a Web or FTP server to advertise a public name to prospective users.
